DIY Refresh: Mid-Century Bar Cart

Today I’m very excited to show my latest DIY refresh! But first, let me set the scene. I was pursuing my local thrift shop looking for a new DIY project to grace my home when suddenly, there it was. At first it looked old, dingy and just plain ugly. Then I got closer only to discover something amazing.

Somebody had thrown away a perfectly good bar cart. But not just any old bar cart, a mid-century one. I was over the moon for such a find! Even better, it was only $7.00! It had obviously seen better days but that wasn’t an issue. So I armed myself with some paint and primer in my chosen colors and got to work!

After removing the sliding doors and drawer,  I set about  priming the entire cart.

BAM! Look at that!

I really love this bar cart, whoever threw it away really didn’t know what they had! The white and blue just made the cart pop! It’s the perfect place to store my glasses, cook books, and wine bottles now. My Anthropologie vase adds that extra piece of color too to really bring it together. Plus living in a small apartment (it’s only 400 square feet!), I try and find pieces that’ll better utilize the space I have whilst also working as pieces of art. I think this cart does the trick.

What do you think? Do you love the way it turned out? Would you like to see more DIY refresh projects? Let me know in the comments!
