With 2016 firmly behind us (thank goodness, right?) I thought it was a great time to round up some of my favorite and most popular looks on the blog and Instagram from the year. Because of you, I was able to reach 34,197 likes on just a mere 199 photos in 2016. That’s a lot of likes you guys! Thank you so much for being a part of this wild and crazy journey of blogging and expressing myself through fashion. It’s truly an amazing feeling to know that many of you enjoy my work!
Let’s start off with some food pictures!
Top Food Pictures of 2016
Tequila’s Town’s legendary food definitely made some mouths water last year! Their heavenly and colorful Tex-Mex inspired dishes truly were amazing! I loved visiting their restaurant in September and had a blast chatting with their owner about what inspires their food and tasting their newly released tequila.
If you’re ever in the Washington D.C. area, I highly recommend visiting Milk Bar. It’s a small, nondescript ice cream bar that hosts some of the most delicious milkshakes, cakes, and ice creams I’ve ever experienced. This was a happy accident as we walked through the city over Christmas and had to stop inside. But don’t be fooled by the vanilla look of the ice cream, it’s anything but. The ice cream is actually cereal milk flavored and along the side is crushed up cereal. Yes, it’s as amazing as it sounds!
Top Outfits of 2016
You must have agreed with me that choker blouses were the new thing in 2016! It’s definitely a staying trend in 2017 and can be seen on all the runways and stores. I’m still obsessed with this blouse and love pairing it with my OTK boots for a cool edgy look.
Now I never thought I’d be a huge vest fan but this one proved me wrong! With it’s pink fur and being oh so comfy, it definitely came in handy when we traveled to D.C. for the holidays. Now I’m a full fledged believer in vests and I won’t be converted back!
Feeling so fresh and so clean! There’s a reason why you all loved this lemon dress and it’s because it’s so perfect! I wore this to many occasions this year and it wowed everyone in the room. I can’t wait to continue wearing this lemon frock well into spring 2017.
If there’s another trend I hope doesn’t go away in 2017 is the off shoulder trend. Who knew something so easy could make a girl feel so sexy?! I loved pairing this outfit with a black hat and peep toe booties. Even with our 70 degree weather in Charleston, this outfit would be a smash with a leather jacket.
One of my favorite outfits and collaborations from this year was with Old Navy. It was so much fun participating in their #50States50Style campaign on Instagram and seeing how other bloggers around the country styled themselves. I’ve always been a die hard lover of Old Navy and their sales and this dress is constantly on rotation in my wardrobe!
There was only one way to ring in the New Year than with this darling red lace dress. I wore it to New Year’s and for P’s work Christmas party and it made a huge splash! The red is incredibly cheery and I love how flattering the empire waist looks on any figure. I loved how the snake skin shoes really set the look a part!
2016 was definitely a year for the books but I’m so excited to see what new outfits, challenges, and collaborations 2017 brings us. I’ve got big plans this year and cannot wait for you to see! What have been some of your favorite outfits from this year? Was there one I didn’t feature that you just loved? Let me know in the comments!
