Oscar Party Entertaining

Who is excited that this Sunday is the Oscars? I’m not one to get hyped up about an awards show but the Oscars is my absolute favorite to watch. I’m a big fan of movies and I’ve got a few on my list that I’d love to see win (Hello, Leonardo DiCaprio!!). When I saw this gorgeous shoot on Sugar & Charm, I just had to share it. It’s everything you’d ever want at an Oscar’s party including delicious food, cocktails, and celebrity confetti. Because who doesn’t want little faces of celebrities everywhere?

Keep the decoration simple for the evening with some gorgeous white flowers (in a gold vase, of course) and string up some simple gold and black balloons. These celebrity confetti is just too cute! You can download Sugar & Charm’s printable here.

Oyster season is still going strong in Charleston so why not host your Oscar party with some delicious oysters? Keep them in the shell with some lemon and hot sauce or quickly boil them on your stove before your guests come over. Plus, eating oysters with a cocktail just oozes sophistication, am I right?

No Oscar party would be complete without an array of food to eat throughout the show. Treat yourself and guests to simple appetizers like crackers with cream cheese and salmon, salsa, or a make your own cracker bar. I love how easily customizable you can make this so regardless of your guests dietary restrictions, every one can leave home full and happy!

Keep your cocktails simple with a make your own spiked lemonade and Palomas! Just grab your favorite brand of lemonade and vodka and you’re all set! You could even use variations of lemonade like mango to give it a special twist.

  1. Those appetizers look amazing! I love the idea of serving oysters and the drinks look really yummy. I used to love the Oscars, and although I am boycotting this year, I am still rooting for Leonardo Dicaprio to finally get that Oscar, it is long overdue. Have a great party!

    1. They do look great, don’t they? I wish I could boycott this year but I’m working a function for my job! Here’s to Leo finally winning!

  2. I used to be a gong-ho Oscars fan but my interest has waned over the years. That said, I’m always keen on an elegant, fun party. Yours gets an A+ for all you suggested and for those fabulous photos. May I join you? 🙂

  3. Your setup is beautiful. I don’t watch the Oscars but I do love to throw a party so this would be fun and hubby would be happy because it involves oysters!

  4. I’ve never been to an Oscars party and would totally be lying if I said the Oscars were something I anticipate each year, BUT I never pass up a reason to party. Your menu sounds amazing…can I have an invite for next year? LOL
