It feels so good to be wearing layers again! Who else is excited that we can finally dust off our boots and throw on a big comfy shirt? Cause this girl is! I know it sounds crazy, especially after another boiling summer in Charleston, but I just love fall. Every day I wake up and get excited because it feels so cool outside and the humidity? Nearly gone! So my hair isn’t a constant fussy mess anymore!
One of my favorite things to wear in the fall is long, loose shirts. I’ve found that as I’ve gotten older, I can’t stand having my clothes be too tight. I like them to be flowy and comfortable and if they are tight, at least give me a little breathing room (and a little food baby room!). This waterfall style shirt from Cozy Cabin Boutique is an instant favorite of mine because it fits my criteria for a comfortable shirt: it’s loose, flowy, and the fabric is unbelievably soft. Plus I’m obsessed with deeper shades of blue right now especially when it’s paired with black accessories.
Love this necklace by Bijuju Accessories. It really makes Cozy Cabin’s shirt pop!
Another great thing about this look is how simple it is. As we all know, simple is my favorite way to go. If you’re running out the door late to class or a meeting, this shirt can be dressed up quickly and you still look polished. Even if you’re just meeting the girls for coffee, throw on some accessories and you’ll look instantly chic without trying.
I’ve recently developed another obsession, this time for backpacks. They’re so much easier to have than a purse. I can throw in my notebook, cellphone, and other items and easily carry them with me. I’m starting to have more client meetings and it makes me feel more put together to walk in with a classic, professional backpack with everything inside, rather than carrying my notebooks into the meeting. Plus, if I’m out running around all day I don’t want a purse getting in my way. As much as I love my vintage alligator bag, it has a bad habit of whipping around and getting in my way all the time!
Those. Heels. They’re just killer. Plus they add 4 inches to my height!
I can’t wait to keep wearing this outfit all fall long and pair it with my favorite leather jacket once it gets cooler. I love it when I find clothes that become instant staples in my wardrobe!
