Raise your hand if you’ve got an outfit that makes you feel strong, powerful, and an all around boss?
That’s how I’m feeling today.
Lately I’ve been feeling like I need to up my outfit game – especially at work, and my God this one did the trick. As soon as I pulled on this slinky maroon bodycon dress, I knew I was about to tackle some epic projects today.
And boy did I ever!
Add on these killer boots from Aldo and leather jacket from Kohls and there was no stopping me.
Which is great because I’ve been a little sickly lately and I needed an outfit to perk me up and light a fire under my butt.
I’ve talked before about reevaluating my outfit game (gotta keep that ‘ish strong) and going towards a more minimal palette and going to structured pieces again and that’s all I’ve been doing lately. I’ve been snagging up pieces from H&M, Gap, and Forever21 that ooze that slick feeling I’m having lately.
I mean how could you pass up a sleek dress like this?
Oh, and did I mention? It’s only $12 at Forever21.
I typically don’t wear bodycon dresses but I fell in love with this cut and color so hard and so fast. I sized up to a medium so it’s not skin tight on me and I can have a little more freedom. The best part is, I can dress this bad boy up or down – work or play. So I can be a boss in the workplace and look fabulous when I’m out on the town with P. This jacket has been a wardrobe staple of mine since college, can you believe that? I got it for such a steal at Kohl’s and love the gold flakes on it. It adds just a little more bling to my everyday uniform. I’m not one for flashy clothing (I can’t say the same for my home decor!) but this is just enough for me.
The same goes for these booties. I typically hover around 3 maybe 3.5 inches when I wear heels. Anymore than that and I feel awkward and tall, plus I’m just increasing my chances of falling on my face. And no one wants that! But these gorgeous booties have a secret weapon even though they’re 4 inches high – the platform in the toe keep me steady and secure as I strut around Charleston. I was skeptic to purchase them last fall but I love how steady I feel in them and they’re incredibly comfortable!
