It’s been really crazy around here lately, but I’m so glad to be back with my usual outfit post on! We been busy traveling to weddings, engagement parties, and other family affairs throughout the East Coast so it feels really good to be back home before we jet set off once again to another state. This off the shoulder dress though, is totally perfect for all of those family functions! I recently wore this dress for a fun girls dinner and got so many compliments on it! It’s simple pieces like this dress that really make me love it even more. Since summer is a practically here, I’ve been drawn into a lot more dresses like this recently. I really have been enjoying wearing off the shoulder dresses, linen dresses, and pretty much anything colorful! I think it has to do with the weather changing but I’m really enjoying wearing these more fun, girly pieces. Not too long ago I wouldn’t have worn a dress like this, or really anything with color! But I’m glad that my wardrobe has changed so much in the past couple of years. It wasn’t too long ago that I refused to wear any kind of color unless it was black, white, gray. How far we’ve come!
Now if you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen but I’m starting to wear hats again! I once thought I was not a hat girl but over the past few weeks I’ve really found myself drawn to wearing hats more often. Maybe because I’m getting older and I want to protect my fee some more when I’m out in the hot sun, or maybe because I finally realize what a cute excess radar! Either way, I absolutely love this hat from Old Navy! I got it a few months ago for such a steal, it was only $15! Believe me, this brown hat is going to be seeing a lot of sunshine this year! With how hot the weather gets here in Charleston I have really made a point to protect my face so I don’t get super sunburned anymore and of course, prevent getting any kind of wrinkles in my later years. Skin safety is super important!
We have another whirlwind month coming up, but I’m so excited for all of it! We will be heading up to Baltimore, Maryland this weekend for a wedding and then next weekend we will be in Charlotte shooting with a bunch of wonderful bloggers in that area. I’m a Charlotte native myself, but if there are any new restaurants, bars, stores that I absolutely have to check out please send them my way! I haven’t lived in Charlotte for almost 3 years and it is amazing how fast that city has changed from when I lived there. Then shortly after Charlotte we will be setting off to beautiful Los Angeles for another wedding! I’m extremely excited for that one because it will be somewhat of a vacation for us since we will be going out a few days prior to the wedding to enjoy some sun, drinks, sightseeing before the rest of the wedding party arrives. I’m really excited to see what everyone recommends for Los Angeles! I have a somewhat of a list right now of the things that I would like to do/see, but if you have anything that I absolutely must see (and capture for Instagram!) please let me know!
With all of these travel plans, I’m really trying to make an effort to relax when I am home and not have something to do every single night. I’m really guilty of putting to much on my plate and then becoming exhausted by the middle of the week. That’s crazy! So when I have some downtime these days you can typically find me on the beach reading a book or out with my girlfriends for a simple dinner before heading home to spend time with P. What do you do to unwind when you are traveling a lot?
Please leave your comments below, I can’t wait to see what wonderful recommendations you may have for both Charlotte and Los Angeles. I know every single one of them will be absolutely amazing!
